It's a simple focus method invented by Francesco Cirillo. You work in a 25-minute focused sprint called a 'Pomodoro', then take a 5-minute short break. After four sprints, you take a longer 15–30 minute break. That's it — short bursts of deep focus, separated by real rest, so your mind stays fresh and you actually finish what you start.
Pick a tab — Pomodoro, Short Break, or Long Break — and press Start. The countdown runs with a smooth progress ring. When a focus sprint ends, Focustimers automatically moves you to a break; when the break ends, it's back to focus. After three focus sprints it gives you a long break. You don't have to remember the count — the app keeps track for you.
Choose one single task — just one — and give it your full attention until the timer rings. Close distractions, silence notifications, and resist switching tabs. When the bell sounds, stop, even mid-sentence. Stand up, stretch, look out a window, or grab water during the break. The structure is the whole point: full focus, then full rest, repeated.
No. Open Settings and drag the sliders to set any focus length from 5 to 90 minutes, and any break length you like. 25 minutes is the classic starting point, but some people prefer 50/10. Experiment and find your rhythm — your choice is saved automatically.
A gentle alarm sounds (you can pick from chime, bell, beep and more, or upload your own). If you allow notifications, you'll get an alert even if you've switched tabs — and on an installed app it reaches you in the background. By default the next break or focus block starts automatically after a 3-second countdown, which you can cancel.
No. Focustimers works fully offline in your browser the moment you open it — your timer, tasks, notes, and history stay on this device. Signing in is completely optional and only there if you want your stats and tasks to follow you across your phone, laptop, and tablet.
Yes. On your phone's browser, use 'Add to Home Screen' and Focustimers installs as an app with its own icon, full-screen view, and wake-lock so the screen stays on while you focus. Once installed it can send you timer-finish push notifications even when the app is in the background.
By default everything is stored only in your own browser. Cloud sync is opt-in and only turns on if you sign in. You can clear your full history any time with the 'Clear History' button, or export it as a CSV file.
Open the timer and start your first Pomodoro. It's free, works offline, and remembers everything — even if you come back tomorrow.
